O For A Thousand Tongues

Charles Wesley famously longed for a thousand tongues to sing the praises of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Wesley was inspired to write the hymn when a friend expressed his spiritual joy by saying, “The Lord has done so much for my life, had I a thousand tongues I would praise Christ Jesus with every one of them.” These words have stirred the hearts of the Lord’s people now for over two centuries.
